In this lesson God would use His great power to save His chosen people and make His name known in all the world. It is incredible to think that the events of this lesson would still 40 years later make the surrounding nations hearts “melt with fear.” (Joshua 2:9-11)

Year-Long Lapbook Project
(Please refer to this post for details on the lapbook project.)
Lesson 18
There are two activities for the lapbook for Lesson 18. The first square flap is to be done over lessons 18, 19 and 20. After talking about each plague, have the kids draw a simple picture that represents the plague. The other is a triangle flap and the first three plagues are written on the inside of the flap (the plagues that Israel suffered as well).
Click here to download the PDF of the two flaps. There are instructions for printing and folding the flaps in the PDF document.
Lesson 19
There are two activities for the lapbook for Lesson 19. One is a collage that has a picture of each of the plagues hidden somewhere (thanks to Karen P. for drawing this for us!) The other is a sequence activity. The kids have to put the cards in order the plagues happened.
Click here to download the PDF of the two flaps. There are instructions for printing and folding the flaps in the PDF document.
Practical Challenge
Thanks to Kate B. for sharing these practical challenges.
Each week we hope to share a practical challenge that can be incorporated into the lesson or as homework.

Scrambled Plagues
Here is another plague activity. This can be a great way for kids to review the 10 plagues.
You’ll need to purchase a package of fillable plastic eggs, often very inexpensive in the Spring 🙂 It works best if the eggs are all the same color, as it is harder to remember what is in each egg.
Print off this PDF which contains a picture for each plague. Here is a PDF with smaller pictures if useful.
Have the kids organize their eggs into the right order of the 10 plagues. The last two eggs can be filled with little treats as a reward for a job well done!
Print off the title pages and glue them to the top of the egg carton.
