A New Leader (CSSA Primary Stage 2 Lesson 6)

This week’s lesson focuses on the passing on of the truth from one generation to another. We’ll learn of the heart ache Moses felt at not being allowed to enter into the Promised Land, and yet the gentleness with which God deals with him in letting Moses view the whole land, and personally being responsible for the burial of the “meekest man on the earth”. You can just imagine those final moments of Moses’ life alone on that mountain with the God he had faithfully tried to serve, and now waiting for the resurrection of the dead.

Yet that is only half of the story – down among the tents of the nation the new leader had been chosen. Joshua, the servant of Moses, had been prepared for many years to lead God’s chosen nation and God had a special message to encourage him in this near impossible task.

We are soon leaving the dusty desert behind to enter the long awaited Promised Land!

Practical Challenge

Thanks to Kate B. for sharing these practical challenges.

Each week we hope to share a practical challenge that can be incorporated into the lesson or as homework.

Primary Lesson 6 – Practical Challenge

We need to read the bible every day, just like God told Joshua to do.  Choose a verse from the lesson and read it before you go to sleep or when you wake up.

Craft Ideas

In case you’ve forgotten, two dedicated Sunday School teachers have very useful Pinterest pages that link directly to the CSSA program. Each week we will share direct links to the Pinterest boards so you can quickly and easily get quality ideas if needed.

“Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.”
