Samuel (CSSA Stage 2 Primary Lesson 16 & 17)

The life of Samuel acts as a perfect bridge between the time period of the Judges and the Kingdom of Israel. More then that though, we see an incredible example of a young boy dedicated from birth to the work of God and those who raised him up to lead Israel faithfully. No sin is recorded of Samuel in the whole record and what a wonderful example for us to aspire too as we raise up young minds to be devoted to our Heavenly Father for their whole lives.

Practical Challenge

Thanks to Kate B. for sharing these practical challenges.

Each week we hope to share a practical challenge that can be incorporated into the lesson or as homework.

Lesson 16 – Practical Challenge

Hannah made a very big promise to God and she kept it!  Let’s make sure we always do what we say we are going to do!

Lesson 17 – Practical Challenge

Growing up in the temple wouldn’t have been easy for Samuel as there was a lot of wickedness around him (Eli’s sons), but Samuel loved and obeyed God rather than following others around him.  There are so many people in the world who don’t love God, we must make sure that we don’t follow them but instead follow after God and how He wants us to behave.  Listen to His instructions by reading the Bible.

Craft Ideas

In case you’ve forgotten, two dedicated Sunday School teachers have very useful Pinterest pages that link directly to the CSSA program. Each week we will share direct links to the Pinterest boards so you can quickly and easily get quality ideas if needed.

My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
