Sunday School Resources for CSSA Stage 3 Introduction – Videos Included

We’re very thankful for the many brothers and sisters who have gone the extra mile for the sake of Sunday School this year!!  Thanks to all of them, we have a packed post of amazing resources to introduce!  The resources are divided by CSSA age group, but all ages cover similar topics, so you may find it useful to check out the resources available for all the different age groups.  We pray that you will find this all useful in the Sunday School year ahead.

Resources in the Primary Posts

Memory verse system AND MEMORY VERSE VIDEOS (New)!

We are planning to use the same Memory Verse system we started last year. Hopefully, this will help you keep memory verses all in one place and make reviewing easier. Here are some brief instructions for how the memory verse system works:

  • Print out the blank “Memory Verse” page … enough for each student. Place in a plastic pocket in the student’s binder.
  • Each week, print the memory verse that goes along with the lesson. Attach it to the “Memory Verse” page in the student’s binder.
  • Once the sheet is full, print a new “Memory Verse” page to put in the student’s binder.
  • On review weeks, have the student choose a verse from one of the previous weeks to review for homework.
  • Keep all the memory verses together for the year!

Click here to download the memory verse page.
Click here to download the first six memory verses.

Every six weeks or so, we will post a new sheet of memory verses.

NEW THIS YEAR!  We also have fun Bible Memory Verse videos (on a bi-weekly basis, God willing!)  (Thank you to John, Rachel, and Grace P!)

Check out their Intro video here for some ideas on how you can incorporate these memory verse videos into your Sunday School!

Lapbook AND LAPBOOK VIDEO (New)!

Like previous years, we hope to share a yearlong lapbook project.   (Thank you to Julia H!)  Each week a small craft or activity is added into the lapbook that corresponds with the lesson for that week.  New this year there will be a corresponding video for each week’s project (Thank you Joanna G!)  These videos can be used however you like: perhaps incorporated into online Sunday School classes, or perhaps emailed to parents as a fun homework activity.  Below you will find the Introduction video and printouts (legal size paper) for the lapbook (which covers the lapbook assembly and the cover of the lapbook).  You will need three file folders, a printed copy of this Cover Page PDF (print on legal size paper), glue, scissors and pencils or markers to decorate.

Eye Spy with Ellie – New!

If you participated in the online Manitoulin Youth Camp this year, you may be familiar with the “Eye Spy with Ellie” activity.  This is a short video each week, God willing, with a collection of items related to the Sunday School lesson.  When one item goes missing, the kids need to figure out which it is.  The intro video is below!  (Thank you to Joanna G and, of course, Ellie!)

Sunday School Lesson Songs – New!

New this year! Music is a wonderful way to engage the children and a fantastic tool for remembering important lessons. For many of the Sunday School lessons, we hope to share a corresponding song. This will include the sheet music, an audio file, and the lyrics in jpg form (this can be used in a PowerPoint for online Sunday School classes!) Below is the example of the sheet music for lesson 1.  (Thank you to Rosey G!)

Mephibosheth Song PDF

You can save this jpg to insert into PowerPoint for online Sunday School!

Practical Challenge

While learning the facts of our lessons is important, it is also necessary for them to make an impact on our lives.  To help the kids see how the bible stories can make a difference in their lives, we have put together some practical challenges which may be useful in helping them make the lessons relevant. (Thank you to Kate B!)

Food Crafts, including Videos – New!

Also, new this year, we hope to share with you Food Craft videos that correspond to the primary lessons!  We are currently planning for the videos to be at least every other week, and for the weeks that do not have a video, we hope to share a link for a food craft idea.  The videos can be incorporated into online Sunday School lessons as a fun snack activity, or emailed as a home activity.

Powerpoint Bible Photos from FreeBibleImages.org

“Sweet Publishing” on FreeBibleImages.org has images of many of stories corresponding to the Sunday School lessons.  We hope to link in the corresponding set of photos to each lesson.  The link will take you to a set of photos, and you can use one of these tabs (see photo) to create a slideshow or download the photos for your lesson.

Homework Sheets

(NEW!) Here is an example of our youngest homework sheet. This is designed for the youngest age of Sunday Schools scholars following the  Primary Notes. They could be used for a Kindergarten class as well if following the CSSA Stage 3 lessons. These homework sheets were designed to attract younger students. They are for emerging readers and writers who would benefit from a variety of questions. Here is our primary homework sheet for a slightly older age group (7-8-year-old or more confident readers & writers.) We don’t want Sunday School homework to become a burden on children’s fine motor skills, so choose a homework sheet that you feel matches the age and ability of your Sunday School scholars. Again, this is based on the Stage 3 Primary Notes.

For all our homework sheets we aim to have the questions be able to be answered from the CSSA Notes. This allows children to go back, review and look for the answers themselves in their books.

We also have removed memory verses from the homework sheets. We have found it best to give the students a piece of paper with their memory verse on it that they are able to stick on their fridge for family practice. Please read our section on memory verses above.

(Thank you to Debbie B and Linda W!)

And much, much more…

We’ll continue to link in CSSA free downloads, Christadelphian activity pages, review games, Pinterest boards and any other useful supporting resources!

Resources in the Junior Posts

Memory Verse System

The Junior memory verse system is very similar to the primary memory verse system. The main difference is that the verses will be slightly longer (usually 2 verses instead of 1) and only 3 verses will be on a sheet of paper at a time.

Every three weeks, we will upload a new sheet of memory verses.

This is Junior Lesson 1-3 memory verses AND Junior Lesson 1-3 memory verse page (PDF).

Kahoot Reviews – New!

God willing, for each of the lessons, we will have a Kahoot Review that can be incorporated in online Sunday School.   (Thank you to Tirzah I!)

Homework Supplement for Different Types of Learning and for Developing New Skills – New!

Sunday School is a wonderful time to fill our spiritual toolkits. It is a time to learn the memory verses that we might take them with us in our hearts through each trial and temptation. It’s the time to know and understand the things which the spirit has written on record for us that we might be wiser, in all of our ways, than the children of this world. But this can also be a time to develop even more skills in addition to these like: prayer, art, music, hospitality, writing, reading, concern & care for the brotherhood, conversation & encouragement, and many more things. These skills can be used and are so valuable in our community every day. And so this year, I desired to create a Sunday school supplement that accommodates all of these talents in the most convenient way (& of course to share it with other teachers in our community). The supplement encourages the students to complete their homework in more ways than just questions (those aren’t optional, of course). This is an annual post, God willing, and will include the homework package, plus a colouring book designed by various Christadelphians! This supplement package is specifically designed for stage three juniors (CSSA), but can be used for other ages. (Thank you to Bailey M!)

Homework sheets

Here is the junior homework sheet based on Stage 3 Junior Notes. These homework sheets include multiple-choice, fill in the blank and thought questions.

Please read our section on memory verses below (above?).

(Thank you to Jim S for these homework sheets.)

And much, much more…

We’ll continue to link in CSSA free downloads, Christadelphian activity pages, review games, Pinterest boards and any other useful supporting resources!

Resources for Intermediate and Senior

Although we will not be publishing posts specific to the Intermediate and Senior age groups (at least at this time), we do have headings for each of these categories on our CSSA Stage 3 Home page.  Under these headings, you will find any useful resources aimed at these stages.

This includes:

  • Links to the CSSA website’s Intermediate Project and Activity Pages
  • Link to CSSA website’s Senior Project Page
  • Link to ChristadelphianStudies Bible Marking Page
  • New!!  We are excited to introduce Senior homework sheets this year. The layout/design of these homework sheets is based on the junior homework sheets, but the content & material covered is based on the Senior Notes.  (Thank you to Jim S & Karen J for creating these homework sheets.)
