You may ask if Jesus was such an excellent person, why then did he die? It is always hard for us to see the beauty in the struggle. Jesus died to show us that we need to choose sides – that our own natural inclinations can lead to terrible things. He died as a final act of giving up the part of us that rebels against God, and choosing God’s ways instead so that we can look to him and see an example of all that we could be. We are thankful that God raised him up to be our Saviour and to give us Hope.
