March Scripture Writing Plan 2025

This month, write about David’s confidence in God (Psalm 27), the confidence of the faithful in a righteous God (Psalm 36), the cry of the exile (Psalm 43), the blessing of the man who keeps God’s covenant (Psalm 112), and the Omniscience, Omnipresence, and Omnipotence of God and our relationship to Him (Psalm 139). Join with the Psalmists in seeing that God is there even in the midst of troubles, that He gives light, and His ways are always the best way.

What do you use your eyes for? You may say many different things: to find your way around, to appreciate a sunset or flowers in your garden, to read and entertain yourself, to recognize people and places… but do you use your eyes to really see? Do you see the heart or just the surface? Do you see the big picture or only what is in front of you? Do you see the good as well as the bad? Does what you see prompt you to do anything differently?

Consider what God sees:

  • God saw everything that it was good (Genesis 1:31)
  • God saw Hagar in despair and helped her (Genesis 16:13)
  • God saw the misery of His people and came to rescue them (Exodus 3:7)
  • God saw the heart, not just the outward appearance in David. (1 Samuel 16:7)
  • God saw the future and the blessings He has in store for His people. (Jeremiah 29:11)
  • God sees violence done to the helpless and rises up to rescue them (Psalm 12:5)
  • God sees us as His children. (1 John 3:1)
  • God sees us from the moment of conception and throughout our lives(Psalm 139:13-16)
  • He keeps watch on the good and the evil. (Proverbs 15:3)
  • His eye is on those who fear Him (Psalm 33:18)
  • He sees all our steps (Psalm 139:1; Job 34:21)

Our sense of sight is pretty amazing. In semi-darkness, we can still detect light and see in shades of grey. But in the light, our eyes can detect possibly up to one million colours. Light makes everything more beautiful, and also allows life to be possible through heat and photosynthesis. Light can make such a difference to how we feel. In many ways, light brings hope – it brings colour and clarity and direction.

Notice Creation!

  • Watch the sun rise and set.
  • Look at the moon as it waxes and wanes.
  • Feel the sun on your body.
  • Notice shadows as the sun moves across the sky. On a moonlit night, look for moon shadows.

When we see properly, we find ourselves thankful for God’s goodness. “In ordinary life, we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer
