June Scripture Writing Plan 2025

Write about how God saves those who trust in Him (Psalm 34), about how God is a gardener growing a vine (Psalm 80), and about how the man who trusts in God is happy (Psalm 84). Join in the recognition of God as a Saviour who will not fail those who trust in Him.
Consider how God wanted to plant his people in a land flowing with milk and honey! How He wanted to feed them with the finest wheat! How he was willing to fill the open mouth of His people with good things. Even His words were meant to be like honey – sweet to the taste.

Jesus tells us to “hunger and thirst for righteousness” (Matthew 5:6). He also tells us that he is the “bread of life; whoever comes to [him] shall not hunger, and whoever believes in [him] shall never thirst.” (John 6:35).

Isaiah says, “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.” (Isaiah 55:1-2 ESV)

The Psalms tell us that God “satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.” (Psalm 107:9 ESV)

Do you have a taste for good things? By that I mean things that are healthy and life-giving rather than those that may satisfy our hunger and thirst but may not be so good for us, such as those loaded with sugar, fat, and salt. Eating foods with added salt and sugar can actually stop us from enjoying the natural saltiness and sweetness of unprocessed foods. Taste is something that can be trained to prefer foods that are healthier for our bodies. This is true also of what we take into our minds.

If you have never tried a sugar-fast before, this may be a good time to give it a try. Instead of eating foods with added sugars, eat plenty of whole, nutrient-dense foods which are the foods your body actually needs. You will probably find that you start to appreciate the taste of food more without the added sugar, and feel better too. Let this remind you to develop your taste to hunger and thirst for righteousness.

Notice Creation!

Have you thought about how much of the food that we eat comes out of the earth? Soil, with the addition of air, light and water provides the necessary environment for the beginning of the food chain.

    • Get your hands in the soil of a garden or the sand of a beach. Use all your senses in exploring it.
    • Take the time to really enjoy the view of a landscape and what is growing in it. Use all your senses to appreciate it.
    • Go for a walk and listen to the sounds of your footsteps. Look for the footprints of other creatures sharing your environment.
    • Pick up rocks and look at them closely. How do rocks of a particular area effect the soil?
