Meat for Israel (CSSA Junior Stage 2 Lesson 1)
We start our Sunday School year with so much hope and possibility. The children of Israel are camped only a few days journey from “the land flowing with milk and honey”. A short trip and yet so far they still had to go in their spiritual development! The nations lack of faith that God could continue to provide makes the tragedy of this lesson that much bitter. May we remember during challenging times to think of times in our past when our God has been faithful and walk with thankful and confident hearts to our “land flowing with milk and honey.”

Memory Verse System
This year we plan to organize our memory verses in a similiar way to the Primary program. The verses will be slightly longer (usually 2 verses instead of 1) and only 3 verses will be on a sheet of paper at a time.

Each week we hope to share a practical challenge that can be incorporated into the lesson or as homework.
Lesson 1 – Practical Challenge
This week we need to remember not to complain, but instead to be thankful to God and our parents every day. At the end of each day, think of something you are thankful to God for and something you are thankful to mum and dad for. You may like to put a sticky note next to your bed to remind you. Make a note below of the things you are thankful for so we can share them with our class next week.
