CSSA Stage 2 – Junior Lesson 14: Gideon

Gideon (CSSA Junior Stage 2 Lesson 14)

In this week’s Sunday School lesson we see how God used the faithful courage of one man to inspire a nation. Gideon is such a powerful reminder how God can use the “weak” things of this life to confound the wise. There are so many practical lessons to be pulled out of the story of Gideon.

Practical Challenge

Thanks to Kate B. for sharing these practical challenges.

Each week we hope to share a practical challenge that can be incorporated into the lesson or as homework.

Junior Lesson 14 – Practical Challenge

When Gideon and the Israelites won the battle against the Midianites they knew that it was only because of God’s strength and not their own.  We must also trust in the protection and strength of God in our lives.  We must not be proud or boastful but acknowledge that God is always with us and helping us.  Think of some achievements (awards you may have received at school) or happy moments in your life and thank God for them.

“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
