CSSA Stage 2 – Junior Lesson 8: Jericho is Destroyed

Jericho is Destroyed (CSSA Junior Stage 2 Lesson 8)

The fall of Jericho has to be up there in the list of favourite Sunday School stories for children. The drama and action of the story is captivating for even the youngest of Sunday School scholars, and as the children grow there are more and more layers to pull back and reveal. We hope you enjoy preparing this powerful lesson of God opening “the windows of heaven” to pour His blessings down. He doesn’t call us to be the strongest, wisest or richest but to obey His commands faithfully while understanding that God is ruler of the earth. (Jeremiah 9:23)

Practical Challenge

Thanks to Kate B. for sharing these practical challenges.

Each week we hope to share a practical challenge that can be incorporated into the lesson or as homework.

Junior Lesson 8 – Practical Challenge

The men had to make no noise as they marched around the city.  Sometimes our teachers ask us to be quiet while they teach the class or as we walk through the hall – make an extra effort this week to be quiet when you’re asked!

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.”
