They have no wine. It was not even a request that Mary made to Jesus at the wedding in Cana. She only had to state the need, and she knew that Jesus would respond to the need, if it was something that was right to respond to.
Sometimes in our struggle to express our requests to our Father in prayer, we may forget that we only need to state our needs in faith. Even groaning that cannot be expressed in words, our heavenly Father understands (Romans 8:26). Like Mary, who had complete confidence that required her only to state the need for Jesus to work, we also can have full confidence that when we turn to our Father, He will hear us.
