A lapbook is a creative way of displaying information in a folder that fits in a child’s lap! Lapbooks are very hands on and interactive for kids. They learn as they put them together and also as they continue to review the lapbooks in the weeks and months that follow. They are nice and flat and can be stored easily … and pulled out for many hours of enjoyment!
In previous years, we have had two “year-long” lapbooks (made with three file folders!):
- From Creation to the Wilderness Wanderings by Linda W. (see the Primary section in CSSA Stage 1 Home Page)
- From Wilderness Wanderings to David by Julia H. (see the Primary section in CSSA Stage 2 Home Page)
This year the lapbook goes from David to Christ… and new this year, we have corresponding How-To videos! These are great for kids to follow along with, and can easily be incorporated on zoom sessions or emailed as a “home activity.” Although the Lapbooks correspond to CSSA Sunday School books, they’re a useful resource for a weekly Biblically based project for homeschoolers or anyone. Thank you to Julia H. for the Lapbook and Joanna G. for the Lapbook videos!
You can find these craft printables and videos under the Primary section in CSSA Stage 3 Home Page or you can find all of the videos in the Video Library.
