Inside the chrysalis, an amazing change happens. The caterpillar dissolves, except perhaps some of its nervous tissue, and groups of cells called imaginal discs use the soup to fuel the cell division necessary to form the parts of the butterfly: an almost completely new creature.
It leaves its life as a caterpillar behind completely.
In our spiritual life, we also have to leave the old life behind.
