In this week’s lesson we will be learning of the role of the Levites as spiritual teachers to the nation of Israel. As Sunday School teachers we can take extra encouragement from many of the lessons in this week’s lesson as we try to impart God’s word to our charges!

Year-Long Lapbook Project
(Please refer to this post for details on the lapbook project.)
There are a number of activities for the lapbook this week! The first one is a diagram of the Tabernacle and each part is to be labelled. The Tabernacle isn’t covered in detail in the lesson, but it’s an important aspect of the ecclesia in the wilderness. There is a popsicle puppet of the High Priest and an accordion flap with the story of Nadab and Abihu. The last one is a square petal envelope flap where the students can write (or draw) their favourite lesson from this year.

Making the High Priest
Each child in a CYC made their own copy of the High Priest as a multiple week activity – even the boys learned to sew! (Thanks to Lois L. for this idea!)
For the pattern, I used the doll body from a Holly Hobby doll pattern!
The clothes were just traced around the body in the good old, one size fits all SS play fashion. Trying to follow the description of the High priest garments in scripture, I made the garments the best I could. The breast plate is embroidery thread on Aida cloth.
