CSSA Stage 1 – Moses at the Burning Bush (Junior Lesson 16)

Moses at the Burning Bush (CSSA Junior Stage 1 Lesson 16)

We ended last week’s lesson with Moses fleeing from Pharaoh into the Midian wilderness and becoming a shepherd in the house of faithful Jethro. Moses’ confidence in himself has been shattered and he is now able to learn humility and complete trust in God. This week’s lesson will show how God makes known to Moses His great Name and His purpose with Israel.

THE BURNING BUSH (from CSSA Family Bible Studies Stage 1)

Have you considered the lessons of the burning bush that was not consumed?

  • The bush is like Israel who were called to be God’s people (Ex. 6:7)
  • The nation was to proclaim His righteousness to all nations (Deut. 4:6-8)
  • They rebelled and suffered affliction (Deut. 9:7-8)
  • Though afflicted, they shall never be destroyed (Jer. 46:28)
  • God’s purpose with Israel will prevail (Mal 3:6)

“This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler
and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.”
Acts 7:35
